My name is Justin Kirchen and I am running for Alderman for Madison’s 13th District.
I am originally from Waukesha where I attended South High School.
I received my Bachelors from Marquette University in Milwaukee. I completed my undergraduate in 3 years and graduated in 2011 with a degree in political science. I was also fortunate enough to attend Georgetown University for a semester through the Fund for American Studies Engalitcheff Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems.
From age 14 through college I owned and operated a lawn care and property maintenance company with my younger brother. At its peak we had 3 employees, serviced nearly 100 customers and had $100k in annual revenue.
Through owning and operating this small business for nearly 10 years, I was fortunate enough to pay my own way through college, and learn the values of financial discipline and entrepreneurship which I carry with me today. I have owned and operated 3 successful small businesses and have been self-employed for most of my professional career.
In 2014 I closed my lawn care business to pursue a career in financial consulting. Since 2016, I have worked at a local financial institution that services Credit Unions in multiple capacities. I hold my Series 7 and 66 and life and health insurance licenses.
During my travels for work, I met my wife Samina. After a few years of bouncing around, we settled in Madison in 2015 for more permanent job opportunities. Samina and I were married in 2017.
After 3 years of renting our house near Brittingham Park, we had the opportunity to purchase our home. We live on Rodney Ct. with our dog Kaia, and our 3 chickens Sage, Dora, and Gertrude.
I have been blessed to be able earn a living for myself and to provide for my family. I hope to earn your trust, and promise to work to protect this opportunity for future generations by serving as your next Alderman.
